The great wait ends! Now we fight in the dark!

The scene opens with the group moving through a marshy area. It is slowing their movement, well, everyone but Haldar. There are two spiders moving towards us. Haldar can also see humanoids moving down the hill to our right. We can only see about 100 feet around us due to the heavy fog.

Haldar moves to a favorable position and fires three bow shots. Two connect with a spider and it goes down. Rinn moves up a little and throws a firebolt at the other spider. Kyana fires at the spider as well, but it’s still standing. Misty moves in closer but without a range weapon, she has no ability o attack this round. Zanfyr morphs into a giant spider. He fires a web at a spider and hits it but it doesn’t hinder the spider. Snoggly throws a firebolt at the spider as well but misses. Dain moves his maximum distance and takes the front, using himself as the shield, front man.

Rinn is the target of a javelin, but the throw missed. Haldar shifts his attack to people coming down the hill. The target drops to the ground dead. He moves to a defensive position preparing for his next attack. Rinn casts Dancing Lights to light up the area on the hill in order to see who s moving on us. Kyana casts the first fireball of the game on three of the people. She drops a couple of them. The spider fires a web at Dain who manages to avoid it. Misty moves in and attacks the spider and kills it. Zanfyr fires a web at one of the guys attacking us and hits. Snoggly sends a firebolt at the same person and hits. Misty is attacked and missed twice. Dain Fires twice hitting once and drop one. One of our enemies cast Hypnotic Pattern on a group of us. Dain and Snoggly are captured in its spell.

Debbie fought a battle with LED lights, and though the outcome shifted to her favor and out of her favor many times, she did finally win the day with a little assistance from the group. This answers the foreboding question, how many nerds does it take to analyze and solve a lighting problem? The answer is four! One to lead the charge and the rest top tell them what to try next.

Rinn sees a feral looking old lady pop out from behind a wall. She appears to have cast the spell. Rinn calls out to let everyone know she is here. Haldar moves across the battlefield knocking Snoggly and Dain a little and breaking the spell on them. He then stops and fires at a lizard man. Rinn moves the dancing lights so as to include the old woman in its area of affect. He fires at her and misses. Misty, having seen the light’s shift and hearing Rinn call out about the old woman, runs to the tree near her and climbs to where she can see the woman and then pounces next to her and attacks.

Zanfyr moved but was unable to reach a target to attack. Snoggly casts firebolt on the old woman and hit her. Dain moves closer to the old woman but the slowed movement and his little legs are really hindering his advance. He fires twice and hits with both shots. The old woman blinks out and disappears. Zack began coughing and causes this typist to cough as well. Stop that! The battle is over and we start searching the fallen to see what they had. They had nothing of note. Rinn cast dancing lights again, out to the full range, up the hill, to see if anyone else is advancing. He doesn’t see anything and move to rejoin the group.

We search the buildings as we move forward through this area. We didn’t find anything. Misty and Haldar began searching the area where the old woman stood to see how she got there. She came down there with the lizard folk and teleported out. As we moved further down the marshy area and came across an odd-looking plant. We wasted a lot of time studying the plant and burning it up from a distance. Once we were sure it was dead and gone and found to be nothing to worry about, only then did we move on.

We move further down the area and come across more buildings, falling in and run down. Rinn sees a figure ahead but can’t get any idea what exactly it is. Knowing his limitations on movement in this area, Rinn messages Haldar to get him to come forward and check out the figure. Haldar moves towards the figure while Rinn hold still where he is. Misty moves forward to find out what is going on and upon seeing the figure, begins her own scouting mission around a different path. Rinn has everyone else, quietly move up to him.

As Haldar approaches, it appears to be a stuffed, scarecrow like, item. As Haldar approaches, and sees it is mostly stuffed with bird feathers. Once he lets Rinn know what he sees, Rinn and the others start moving forward. Haldar also lets Rinn know there are more of these ahead. From behind Misty, she hears the laughter and cackle of a woman. She turns to see what is there and hears the words, “I see you!”. She whispers over to Rinn to get his attention. Rinn messages her so she can communicate with him better. She tells him what she heard. Rinn messages Haldar about it.

Rinn casts Dancing Lights again in a sweeping half circle about 120 feet out to see what we can see. He sees a lot of fog and deep within that, a little movement. Rinn begins moving the lights closer and closer to himself, in a sweeping motion so-as-to cover more area. As it moves forward, Kyana hears a sucking sound behind her. As she turns to face it, it’s two more of the witchy looking woman. Kyana makes a wisdom save as the one of the woman appeared to cast something. Once it appeared to fail, she casts a firebolt at her. The other woman reaches out with Claws and attacks her but then blinks away. Kyana notices her appear about 30 feet away.

Kyana responds with a bow attack on the one in front of her adding a Branding Smite to the shot. Haldar attacks the one on Kyana and adds many new holes. Another appears and hurls a green liquid at Dain and Haldar. Haldar manages to avoid being hit while Dain is not so lucky. Another old woman pops up behind a tree but the little light that it made showed through to Rinn and Misty. She attacked but missed. Kyana attacks and misses and then disengages from the one in front of her. Zanfyr attacks one of them and hits. She tries to cast something on Zanfyr and he succeeds in avoiding it and she follows up with an attack.

Snoggly is held. Rinn moves a little and takes a bow shot one of the old woman. Haldar takes a several shots at one of the old woman and does a great deal of damage. Dain casts sanctuary on Snoggly to try and prevent attacks. He then turns and fires at the which that Haldar just sliced into and dropped her. He took another shot at one of the others. Misty moves to one of the old women and attacks hitting several times. Misty suddenly falls prone while suffering a fit of laughter. Snoggly succeeds his saving throw and is no longer held.

One of the old woman casts witchbolt on Misty and is linked to her. Kyana casts scorching ray at two of the old women. Zanfyr attacks one, poisons it, and kills it. One of the old woman attempts the Hypnotic Pattern again. Dain and Haldar failed to save and are once again, in a daze. One of the old woman moved to one of the scarecrow figures and whispered towards it and it began moving.

Rinn moves toward Misty and fires on one of the women on her. Misty finally stops laughing. Misty is attached and missed. Snoggly sends off a fireball against the woman and the scarecrow figure. It is destroyed but the old woman is still up. Misty takes more damage from the witchbolt. Kyana sends off a Guiding Bolt on one of the old women. Zanfyr moves to attack her while having advantage from the Guiding Bolt. He hits her and poisons her. She attacks back and after a hit, blinks out again. She popped up quite some distance away.

Rinn moves up on the one engaged with Misty and attacks. He puts her down. Haldar attacks one and hits it. Her Hypnotic Pattern spell is disrupted. Dain fires at her and kills her. He then moves a few feet further and fires on the one maintaining the witchbolt. Misty gets up and pounces on the witchbolt throwing woman and puts her down.

We gathered our experience and went home!
