Session 65 – 2022-07-02

Hello it’s me your friendly DM and not the usual writer of this journal. With no acccount of what happened during the fateful events of our last session he was hindered in his ability to produce a detailed account of the events. How much could there be to write anyway? In game time we played less than 18 seconds. In real time we played for 2 hours and 52 minutes. What the What?
It was battle.. 2.5 rounds in fact.. lots of people bashing each other and inflicting wounds upon each other. Many spells were cast. Mayhem.. 

Round 2
Misty improvises a pole from her robe of useful items. Rinn whups out the Sunsword creating bright light for 15 feet and dim light for another 15 feet. Thus drawing the attention of the bad guys, the order is issued to kill the rogue. Inncocents flee the room.. Zanfyr wildshapes into a Yeti uses his chilling gaze ability and claw attacks.. Kyanna escapes her grapple from the Sasha the vampiress and heals some folks. Strahd weighs into the battle despite the light. Haldar breaks the bite of Escher. Snog bangs a gong and turns into a T-rex (built like a car, with a hub cap diamond star halo). Dice rolling and more fighting ensue.. Screams of terror and feral snarls can be heard down the passage way where you came in and the innocents are fleeing to. Kyanna is felled from an attack.  Lucian cast spiritual guardians that look skeletal and use his spiritual weapon. Vampiric mists form from shroud that is filling the room.. As the round comes to a close a great thrum like reverberates through the castle like a booming heartbeat. A wave of red light sweeps through the room like a shockwave of negative energy. At the 1 hour and 20 minute mark we completed 6 seconds of battle. 

Round 3
Somewhere along the way Dain heals Kyanna and she gets up and uses the amulet of ravenkind to cast sunlight and mass healing. Bright light for 30ft and dim light for another 30ft. Snog-a-saur bites Ernst Larnak and grapples him.. Ernst gets a stabby-stabby in on the T-rex. Yuri the wolf yanks the amulet off of Kyanna but is knocked prone trying to run away with it. At the 2 hour and 15 minute mark. Round 2 closes with another deep heartbeat and pulse of of red light and negative energy.. 

Round 4
Misty grapples the werewolf with the amulet thus restraining him. Rinn heals up with a potion. Zanfyr sees the light source moving and makes his way to the werewolf and paralyzes him with the chilling gaze. Kyanna bolts Strahd and heals folk. Arrigal calls out to Strahd to protect his niece (the flower girl) in the hallway, but Strahd seems preoccupied with guiding bolts and that obnoxious sunlight. Snog finishes off Ernst and spits his corpse to the floor in a bloody heap of entrails and gore. As the session ends.. A tug at Misty’s leg gets her attention in the midst of the grapple. Something akin to a child trying to get her attention. You see the familiar form of the tiny clockwork jester .. Piddlewick. His clothes are soaking wet and cling to his frame. In his tiny hand he holds a familiar silver tipped arrow and points to the nearby stairway. It would seem the little unpredictable, bastard is trying to tell you something.
So after completing half of round 4 the night’s events are at a close and the party still lives.
But
What about next session? Gosh Golly Jeepers… Will Zanfyr drink more Absinthe? Will Strahd drink more blood? Will Rinn find his sister? Why is he called Piddlewick?  Will the dice favor good or evil? The answer will be revealed then.. Stay tuned.. Same Bat Time… Same Bat Channel
